ד״ר קאזוקו קמדה מדר מלמדת את תולדות האמנות היפנית ואת טקס התה במחלקה ללימודי אסיה באוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים. היא השלימה את הדוקטורט שלה בתולדות האמנות באוניברסיטת קולומביה הבריטית, ולפני הגעתה לישראל לימדה שנים רבות באוניברסיטת הוואי. תחום התמחותה הוא תולדות האמנות והתרבות החזותית של יפן וסין בעת החדשה המוקדמת. כמו כן, היא עמיתת מחקר במרכז לחקר האמנות של אוניברסיטת ריטסומייקן בקיוטו.
